Snälltåget adds daytime Stockholm-Hamburg train and increases sleeper services in 2026

Swedish private rail operator Snälltåget will introduce a new direct daytime train connecting Stockholm, Malmö, Copenhagen, and Hamburg starting May 4, 2026. The existing night train service between Stockholm, Hamburg, and Berlin for the 2026/27 winter season will be expanded. The move strengthens cross-border rail links between Scandinavia and Germany, without the need for flights.

Snälltåget’s new daytime service will operate daily in both directions, departing Stockholm at 10:43 AM and arriving in Hamburg at 9:57 PM, with a reverse morning departure from Hamburg at 9:51 AM. The 11-hour journey includes stops in Södertälje, Norrköping, Linköping, Hässleholm, Lund, Malmö, Copenhagen, Odense, Kolding, and Neumünster, with Snälltåget’s restaurant car, ‘Krogen’, available throughout the trip.
